Grandmother Cedar
The Grandmother Cedar at the Conservancy Forage Forest. I am told that this tree was the symbol of hope for the Conservancy when they were seeking to purchase their property as they had asked the seller to spare the tree as part of their offer, and “as long as the cedar was standing, there was hope”.
This painting, completed at the Galiano Conservancy’s Musical Walkalong for Learning on August 28th has been donated to their online auction. The Walkalong is a fundraiser for the Conservancy’s Education Bursary Fund; a unique fund that offers access to nature, environmental education and outdoor recreation for BC’s underprivileged children and youth. https://galianoconservancy.ca/walkalong/
