Description
Inspired by the honeycomb sandstone formed into cascading waves on the shoreline of Bellhouse Provincial Park on Galiano Island. Garry oak trees join the rhythm with their wind sculpted branches.
When you walk down to the shoreline of Bellhouse Park, turning west on a low tide, you come to a spectacular array of honeycomb sandstone that curls toward the shoreline in waves of sculpted stone. It’s rhythms, formed by fingers of wind and wave capture my paintbrush and take it on a journey of cool shadows and sun soaked curves. I’ve explored this beautiful shoreline in this painting.
