Description
Inspired by the joyful curves of the arbutus trees that lead your view into Trincomali Channel and the southernmost Gulf Islands from the vantage of Tapovan Peace Park on Galiano Island.
Arbutus are light seekers, survivors that thrive in difficult circumstances along rocky ledges and steeper hillsides. I love the way they reach out to the light, showing off all their colours, inviting us to reach with them. My paintings often include an arbutus, it’s hard to find a shoreline without one, and some of our vistas, like the view from Tapovan Peace Park also have them.
