Hiking on Galiano Island in October, you are bound to have your head turned by a brilliant splash of red high above in the arbutus canopy. To get a closer look, I like to find an arbutus along the shoreline, and Montague Harbour, on Galiano Island, is where these beauties live. What a feast for the eyes, bright round berries, bursting with yellow, orange and deep red.
